SMS Adams Pliers are an instrument used for the construction and adjustment of orthodontic appliances. The plier handle has no spring and the jaws are short. The beak is small, triangular in shape and has a smooth working surface. This instrument used to give sharped bend, it has two flat ended beaks with grooves in the inner side of the beaks which help in holding the wire in place. This plier was made to help mainly in the construction of Adams clasp hence the name Adam’s Plier.
